Leading up to my birthday, I’ve incidentally indulged in a series of simple and exquisite culinary delights. Given that I’m a foodie, this has been a wonderful lead up to going to my favorite restaurant, Zaytinya, with my girlfriend this evening.
It began on Thursday with my coworkers with a rather plebeian yet quite delicious trip to Chipotle for my usual carnitas burrito and (for the first time) paired with a Negro Modelo. On Friday, I found myself with some lightly sautéed codfish cakes. Saturday brought me a delicious Torta from Baja Fresh in the afternoon and baking in the evening biscotti (with a dash of chocolate) and bonbons; the latter two both have a tasty helping of brandy, whiskey, and amaretto. Sunday was the day of the party, and aside from the variety of unmentionable finger foods, involved baking monkey bread to bring for everyone.
Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate my birthday! And looking forward to tonight’s lovely dinner :-).
